What were the Colonists’ Statements?

While the British military personnel had their statements taken in court, there statements by the Bostonian colonists that may or may not correlate to the British perspective of how the massacre started and progressed until it ended.

According to John Tudor, a loyalist colonist, Captain Preston had commanded his men to fire at the colonists, killing three men and critically injuring others. He also said that one of them had died the next day. This was interesting since the captain claimed to not have given the order.

A radical colonist, William Palfrey, had been present in Captain Preston’s trial. Although he did not once his verdict had been announced, the colonist had admitted that he doubted Captain Preston to order his men to fire at the colonists that night.
